Abuse means the intentional infliction of physical pain, injury, or mental anguish or the depravation of food, clothing, shelter, or medical care.
PHYSICAL ABUSE
Physical abuse is the intentional and non-accidental use of or offer of use of physical force by a person aimed at hurting or injuring an individual.
EXAMPLES:
Hitting
Shoving
Tripping
Pushing
Scratching
Cutting
Biting
Use of physical restraints
Use of mental restraints
Signs of physical abuse may include:
Bruises and welts
Cuts
Punctures
Scratches
Broken or fractured bones
Burns
Human bite marks
unexplained injuries that don't 'Add Up'
SEXUAL ABUSE
Sexual Abuse is a form of physical and emotional abuse.
Sexual activity that is considered improper or harmful, as between an adult and a minor or with a person of diminished mental capacity.
Examples:
Incest
Child Pornography
Rape

Indications of sexual abuse:
Behavioral changes
sexual remarks concerning abuse or rape.
recurrent nightmares
infantile behavior
self-destructive behavior
unusual interest or knowledge in sexual matters.
Physical signs may include:
torn or stained underclothing
vaginal or rectal bleeding
genital itching or swollen genitals, vaginal discharge
vaginal infection or disease

EMOTIONAL ABUSE
Emotional abuse : subjection of a person to an atmosphere in which that person does not feel wanted, secure or worthy.

withdrawal of emotional support
