Pig out has an excellent selection  of food. One major difference is they bring a small loaf of bread to the table instead of rolls.  Unfortunately I was not that impressed with the bread which did reduce the rating that was given. A plus is the fact that 24 hour dining is offered. It is right off interstate 40 and has facilities nearby for the truckers.  There is also a gift shop. they offer a breakfast, noon and evening buffet. Although the prices were a bit on the high side the food was not bad And there was a smoking area.

Comment:  08AUG04 : On return visit I found that if anything this establishment seems to have deteriorated.  The only thing that has improved is the service outside of the serving line.  The serving line itself had the same surly attitude of the first time.  I seriously doubt there will be a third time eating there. REVISED!

12March04 Return visit resulted with a piece of wire in food.  We were given free meals next time we went.  Still crowded.

9-02 last time or so we have eaten here it seemed that both taste and service slightly deteriorated.  This may be from familiarity so we will skip this place for a while, dining elsewhere. Will not re-evaluate at this time. - JJ

Comment:  The food was good here but it is usually crowded.  The first time we ate here I was almost ran into  twice by  pre-teen children running around with trays.  It is bad enough for a  normal adult, but one that has to use a cane  anyways is at a bit of a disadvantage.

Comment: This is the old Furr's Cafeteria. It looks like the only thing that changed was the help.  Food about the same, decor looks identical as to last time I was there.   The Wife asked what a dish was and was told it was pork.  It wasn't, it was liver.  If you work in a public access business and are expected to talk to customers you need to speak the language - not some half coherent babble they think is English.  When I talked to the owner about the problems he got sarcastic and said that  he couldn't get white people to work in the industry anymore and implied it wasn't my business.  If I ate there it was my business.   I changed the original service rating, taking one point away just because of the owner's attitude.  I am going to have to be awful hungry before I will even consider going back there, and then only if I can't find a McDonalds or something. The only good thing I can say is that it didn't make me ill although the cheesecake came close. Oh yeah, you don't want to use the bathroom!

Comment:  Food was beyond  disappointing.  Cook could use lessons on how to prepare  both chicken fried steak, and gravy.  Was not impressed with either service or food.  Ordered one side dish, got another one, mis-marked on order pad. Ordered brown gravy over potatoes and country fried steak. The order came with brown gravy on potatoes, but white gravy on steak.  As we were in a hurry (they were also slow and were not that busy) I did not make them re-fix my meal.  Most times I would have. After throwing away 20 bucks for me and my wife, we left, although a bathroom stop almost made me leave the whole meal in the sink.  It was nasty.  The only way I would go back is if the owner called me and promised me that the problems had been taken care of ( more efficient staff), and a promise of a free meal for myself, my wife and the other couple with us that evening. I would then re-evaluate them. [date approximate]

24OCT04  Comment:  This establishment has been a part of Okmulgee since before I moved to Oklahoma over 30 years ago.  This is like the small hole in the wall establishments of a bygone age with limited seating,  about 8 booths and maybe that many stools at the counter.  The Grill is visible from the seating and it's smell gives a unique and pleasant aroma to the building.. The food is quite good and if you live in the area,  it has one of the best burgers in the city. (I rate the burgers 3.75)The other items on the menu are good also..  This place is well worth eating at and is open 24-7 Facility Rating: 2.76
